US weekly raw steel production declined by 46,000nt (41730.49mt) to 1.84mn nt in the second week of December from the prior year period. The capability utilization rate slid below 80pc to 79.7pc.
The production edged up marginally by 1.3pc from 1.821mn in the first week of December. The prior week’s capability utilization level was 78.7pc.
The year-to-date production until December 14, 2019 totalled 92.584mn mt, up by 1.8pc from 90.916mn nt last year. The capability utilization rate rose to 79.7pc from 78.2pc.
