The US Department of Commerce has reduced the antidumping duties on aluminum sheets exported by Romanian aluminum producer Alro.
The company said in a note to investors on Apr 1 that Alro was part of the antidumping investigation initiated by Commerce on 18 countries, which included Romania.
In its final ruling, after a verdict by the US International Trade Commission (USITC) confirming AD on the 18 countries, Commerce revised AD on Alro from 83.94pc in its preliminary notification to 37.26pc. Still, the duties on Alro are in the higher range of the total AD of 12.51-37.26pc imposed on Romanian exports of the material.
