The US Department of Commerce has repealed antidumping (AD) duties on imports of large power transformers (LPTs) from South Korea.
In a preliminary order to be published on July 7, Commerce notified the public that it amended the final results of an investigation from May 5, 2016, which is not in harmony with the final judgement by the Court of International Trade (CIT).
On Oct 10, 2017, CIT instructed Commerce to review Hyundai’s (one of the four parties under investigation) service-related revenues based on associated expenses. Commerce reconsidered its treatment of Hyundai twice, on the advice of the CIT.
On May 26, 2020, CIT approved the third remand results published by Commerce. The final verdict on the AD margins is below:
Company | Weighted Average Margin |
Hyundai Heavy Industries | 16.13 |
ILJIN Electric | 12.44 |
ILJIN | 12.44 |
LSIS | 12.44 |
Once the order is published, Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to assess entry of subject matter based on the revised AD margins.
