US stainless steel processor buying prices remained unchanged on Tuesday.
The daily Davis Index for 304 scrap solids remained at 48¢/lb delivered processor yard and 316 solids were at 68¢/lb for single truckloads.
Scrap 304 turnings also held at 43¢/lb, while 316 turnings declined by 2¢/lb to settle at 59¢/lb.
LME nickel prices went up by $85/mt from Monday with the official three-month LME Nickel contract settling at $12,830/mt on Tuesday. The official cash contract closed Tuesday at $12,740/mt, up by $90/mt from Monday.
After consistently declining over the last few days, LME nickel has gradually risen, but it hasn’t affected scrap pricing. Processors see better pricing for multiple truckloads, while the single truckloads have seen little change.
