Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Steel shipments from the US fell by 16.7pc to 60.4mn nt (54.7mn mt) during January-September over the same period last year, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported.

 

For September, US mills shipped 6.6mn mt of steel, down 14.2pc from the same month in 2019. However, a 2pc increase in total shipments was seen over August, because of increased shipments of hot-dipped galvanized coil. 

 

Notably, cold-rolled sheet shipments were unchanged in September over August while hot-rolled sheet shipments fell by 1pc in the same period.
