Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Superalloy prices have increased across most grades on Thursday. 

 

The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C dropped by 6.5¢/lb to $4.432/lb on Thursday, while it increased for Hastelloy X by 19.6¢/lb to $2.867/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard. 

 

The index for Inconel 600 surged by 41.4¢/lb to $3.793/lb delivered processor yard and jumped for Inconel 601 by 21¢/lb to $2.993/lb delivered. Inconel 617 increased by 2.6¢/lb to $2.966/lb delivered and rose by 7.9¢/lb for Inconel 625 Vac to $3.261/lb delivered processor yard. Inconel 718 Vac moved up by more than 1¢/lb to $3.029/lb delivered on Thursday. 

 

The official LME nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $14,381/mt, up by $131/mt from Wednesday.

 

Superalloy processor buying prices have been rising over the past two weeks due to the rise in nickel prices. Demand from mills, especially the stainless-steel market, has also been stronger.
