Superalloy prices rose across all grades on Thursday, in tandem with increasing LME nickel prices through the week.
The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C inched up by 1¢/lb at $5.24/lb /lb for single truckload delivered processor yard and was up by 2¢/lb for Hastelloy X at $3.79/lb delivered.
Inconel 600 rose by 1¢/lb to $4.94/lb and was flat for Inconel 601 at $4.10/lb delivered processor yard.
Inconel 617 Vac grew by 1¢/lb to $3.74/lb delivered processor yard and climbed for Inconel 625 Vac by 18¢/lb to $4.83/lb delivered. The index for Inconel 718 Vac increased by 17¢/lb to $3.78/lb delivered processor yard.
The official LME Nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $17,945/mt, up by $581/mt from $17,364/mt on May 27.
An upward trend in LME nickel prices this week has put upward pressure on superalloy prices, with strong demand for grades 625 and 718. The overall demand for all superalloys is expected to remain steady for some time.
