Superalloy prices were flat across all grades owing to a sluggish market last week and a rise in LME Nickel prices this week.
The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C was flat at $5.27/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard and was unchanged for Hastelloy X at $3.91/lb delivered.
Inconel 600 remained at $4.95/lb and the index was unchanged for Inconel 601 at $4.06/lb delivered processor yard. Inconel 617 Vac was also flat at $3.61/lb delivered processor yard and Inconel 625 Vac remained at $4.93/lb delivered. The index for Inconel 718 Vac held unchanged at $3.80/lb delivered processor yard.
The official LME Nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $18,192/mt, up by $905/mt from $17,287/mt on Jun 17.
Sluggish market movements and LME declines kept superalloys trade subdued over the past week. Still, demand has crept up in tandem with a more stable LME market this week, keeping superalloy prices rangebound. Prices are expected to rise if this trend continues.
