Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Superalloy prices inched up across most grades on Thursday amid dropping LME nickel prices.

The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C remained at $4.45/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard and increased for Hastelloy X to $3.11/lb from $3.07/lb delivered.

The index for Inconel 600 rose to $4.11/lb from $4.07/lb delivered processor yard and Inconel 601 climbed to $3.27/lb from $3.23/lb delivered.

The official LME nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $14,895/mt, down by $231/mt from Wednesday.

The volatility on LME Nickel has seen superalloys prices moving in a narrow range over the past week. However, processors believe that Inconel prices could drop in tandem with LME nickel prices if the latter continues its downward trend.
