Superalloy prices have increased across most grades on Thursday on an uptrend in LME nickel prices.
The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C rose to $4.482/lb from $4.474/lb on Thursday and ticked up for Hastelloy X to $2.666/lb from $2.662/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard.
The index for Inconel 600 moved up to $3.407/lb from $3.385/lb and jumped for Inconel 601 to $2.786/lb from $2.779/lb. Inconel 617 also rose to $2.888/lb from $2.881/lb delivered, while Inconel 625 Vac increased to $3.159/lb from $3.154/lb. Inconel 718 Vac inched up to $3.036/lb from $3.034/lb on Thursday.
The official LME nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $13,460/mt, up by $245/mt from Wednesday.
Superalloy prices have been increasing with the increasing LME nickel prices. However, demand for the material is experiencing a downward pressure because of which, processors foresee prices inching down over the next few weeks.
