Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Superalloy prices climbed across all grades on Thursday amid increasing LME Nickel prices.

 

The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C rose by 9¢/lb to $4.95/lb for single truckload delivered processor yard and increased for Hastelloy X by 7¢/lb to $3.47/lb delivered.

 

The index for Inconel 600 also jumped by 6¢/lb to $4.66/lb and increased by the same amount for 601 to $3.71/lb delivered processor yard.

 

Inconel 617 grew by 6¢/lb to $3.42/lb delivered processor yard and Inconel 625 Vac climbed by 8¢/lb to $4.09/lb delivered. The index for Inconel 718 Vac rose by 9¢/lb to $3.06/lb delivered processor yard on Thursday.

 

The official LME Nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $17,929/mt, up by $1,322/mt from $16,607/mt on Dec 31.

 

High temp alloy prices have risen this week in tandem with the increasing stainless steel processor buying prices. Increasing LME Nickel prices have raised prices for both these materials over the past week and market participants expect the surge to continue in the short term.
