Indian miner and steelmaker Vedanta has appointed Sauvick Mazumdar as chief executive officer (CEO) of its iron and steel business. NL Vhatte will take over as CEO of the company’s subsidiary, ESL Steel.

 

Mazumdar has been with Vedanta for 25 years and has headed one of the group units, Sesa Goa Iron ore, since 2019.

 

Vhatte was the former director of Vedanta’s value-added business. Their focus will be to drive the company’s iron and steel business forward safely and sustainably, Sunil Duggal, group CEO, noted per media reports on Tuesday.
