Indian primary aluminium producer, Vedanta Aluminium company inaugurated its monsoon preparation centre at Jharsuguda. The company has arranged necessary gears and other appliances to protect the smelter and power plant from monsoon related incidents. This centre can collect information from all the corners of the plant in case of any eventuality.

Jharsuguda has an integrated aluminium smelter, captive power plant and an independent power plant in the western part of Odisha. The plant is located 335 km from Bhubaneswar. It has 1.75mn mt annual capacity of aluminium production.
