Ukraine’s motor vehicle production through the first seven months of the year declined by 40.4pc to 2,122 units from 3,562 during the same period in 2019, according to the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Ukrautoprom).
Compared to the first seven months of 2019, auto production between January and July 2020 declined by 41.8pc, while commercial vehicle and bus production decreased by 39.1pc and 30.9pc, respectively,
Last month, motor vehicle production dropped by 61.5pc to 236 units—of which car production fell by 67.8pc and commercial vehicle output declined by 84pc—from 613 in July 2019, while bus production rose by 11.1pc.
On a monthly basis, motor vehicle production in July fell by 29.8pc to 236 units from 336 units in June. Car production fell by 39.9pc, while bus production increased by 20pc in July from the month prior. Commercial vehicle production was almost unchanged, Ukrautoprom reported.
From sales standpoint, new car registration last month rose by 10.2pc to 8,392 units 7,617 units in July 2019, and increased by 14.9pc from 7,306 units in June 2020. Commercial vehicle registration in July jumped up by 11.1pc to 1,165 units from 1,049 units in July 2019, and surged by 53.3pc from 760 units in June this year. New registration of buses, however, dipped by 19.8pc to 101 units last month from 126 units in July 2019, while they rose by 7.4pc from 94 units in June 2020.
