US-based mechanical pipe joints manufacturer Victaulic has bought Waupaca Foundry’s manufacturing facility in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania to expand its production capacity.
The construction industry specialist indicated in a statement on Feb 17 that the Lawrenceville facility would increase the company’s output by 70pc when operating at full capacity. The plant includes two foundry molding lines which will allow Victaulic to enter the market of larger-scale products.
Apart from adding capacity, Victaulic plans to add jobs at the beleaguered plant which was forced to shut down in September last year owing to weak demand. The closure had, at that time, cost 200 jobs.
