Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (Moit) has imposed anti-dumping (AD) tax on cold-rolled steel products in coils or plate imported from the China, according to the Ministry.

 

On September 3, 2019, Vietnam initiated the probe after receiving a request from the domestic manufacturing industry for application of anti-dumping duties to safeguard the industry from market injury. The investigation revealed that of the total cold-rolled coils (CRC) imports, 65.5pc or 272,073mt was imported from China into the country, the Ministry said.

 

Accordingly, the Ministry has assigned anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.43pc-25.22pc. The products included in investigation have a width less than 1,600mm and thickness ranging from 0.108mm-2.55mm. The inquiry covers materials under HS codes 720916.10, 720916.90, 720917.10, 720917.90, 720918.91, 720918.99, 720926.10, 720926.90, 720927.10, 720927.90, 720928.10, 720928.90, 720990.90, 721123.20, 721123.30, 721123.30, 721123.90, 721129.20, 721129.30, 721129.90 and 722550.90.

 

The duties will become effective from December 28, 2020.
