Trade Defense Department of Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has raised objections on Indonesia’s preliminary findings in an anti-dumping investigation on color-coated steel from Vietnam and China. TRAV has registered its contentions through a letter to the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Commission (Kadi).
Kadi’s investigation concluded that the steel sheets imported from Vietnam were dumped in Indonesia causing injury to the domestic steel industry. TRAV has, however, urged Kadi to use the information and data provided by Vietnam.
TRAV states these conclusions do not reflect the actual market situation such as value-added tax and overlaps in calculations. Vietnamese authorities have asked Kadi to reconsider the calculation method and ensure compliance with World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules.
