Steel production In Vietnam slipped by 0.4pc to 20.9mn mt for January-October, compared with the same period in 2019, according to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA). Steel sales decreased by 4.1pc to 18.4mn mt in the same period, with exports down by 6.4pc to 3.6mn mt.
In October, production declined by 11.7pc to 2.4mn mt over October 2019. In the same period under comparison, sales fell short by 2.4pc to 1.8mn mt. Steel exports increased by 16.5pc, tallying at 399,623mt, accounting for 22pc of total sales in October.
Compared to the prior month, October’s steel production trended flat while sales declined by 14.8pc. Steel exports declined by 19.7pc in October against September data.
