Indian stainless steel longs producer Viraj Profiles recently took the delivery of new Danieli guide equipment for its Mumbai plant to hike its production by up to 25pc.
The new equipment will enable rolling of equal angles and flats Danieli indicated in a media statement on Dec 29, adding that its Rolling Guides team designed a new roller-type entry and exit guide for the manufacturer to produce a better quality of finished rolled stock. Danieli is also installing an in-line straightener and cold shear in Viraj’s cut-to-length facility.
The increase in production was attributed to reduced production downtime. Viraj Profiles currently has an annual melting capacity of 528,000mt and produces an array of stainless steel grades.
