Morocco’s K-Steel Service Senhadji & Trade and Belgium-based VM Steel have announced a joint venture that will focus on manufacturing specialized metallurgical products.
The new Morocco-based entity VM Steel Maroc is the Belgium-based steelmaker’s first international subsidiary. According to media reports, the company selected Morocco due to its importance in the African steel industry. Moreover, the subsidiary’s warehouse facilities are located close to Antwerp Port, enabling VM Steel to reduce delivery times.
VM Steel Maroc’s product line will include steel products that are not yet offered in the Moroccan market, the companies said, without disclosing the particulars of the products slated to be made by the company.
VM Steel is part of the Van Meerbeek group founded in 1875.
