Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

W Silver Recycling plans to start construction of a large processing plant in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The plant is likely to start operations by late 2020 and would become a hub for W Silver’s non-ferrous business.

Santa Teresa offers the company significant logistical advantages with direct Port of Entry to Mexico. Also, the region is experiencing an influx of global manufacturers due to infrastructure such as rail and truck connections, overweight cargo zone and US-Mexico border crossing.

W Silver plans to invest $7mn for this 120,000sq ft facility, which will be constructed on a 60-acre land. Mexico’s economic development department has pledged $200,000 funding for the project. The plant would segregate metals from scrap and bale them before dispatching to downstream customers. W Silver Recycling is a family-owned business with plants in 11 locations in Southwest US and Mexico.
