Welspun Corporation has partially resumed operation at its plant in Anjar, Gujarat while fulfilling the government’s norms to prevent any COVID-19 cases. The company will start LSAW pipe operations to fulfil export orders. Operations at the company’s remaining Indian plants, however, will restart gradually.

Welspun has also started its pipe making and coating operation at Dammam (Kingdom of Saudia Arabia) as per its press release.

 

The company has an installed capacity of 2.425 mn mt across five Indian and overseas manufacturing plants at Dahej and Anjar in Gujarat; Mandya in Karnataka; Little Rock in Arkansas, the US and Damman in Saudi Arabia.

 

It manufactures line pipes ranging from 1.5 inches to 140 inches, including Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW), Spiral Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW), Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipes and High-frequency Induction Welded (HFIW) pipes. It also provides specialised coating, double jointing and bending facilities.

 

Yet another manufacturer, Man Industries too has resumed production at some of its units. Operations at its other units are likely to commence after April 20, per the orders and guidelines issued by India’s Ministry of Home Affairs on April 15.

 

The company is one of the leading LSAW and HSAW pipe manufacturer with facilities at Anjar in Gujarat and Pitahampur in MP. Its installed annual capacity is 500,000mn mt for each unit.
