Wieland Metal Services has expanded its presence in North America with the acquisition of Florida-headquartered Wrisco Industries, an aluminum products and services supplier.

The acquisition will help the German copper and semi-finished copper supplier to diversify its product portfolio and expand its aluminum products portfolio in the region, the company indicated in a press release on Jan 4.

Under the agreement, which was completed on December 31, 2020, the new business will operate under the name Wieland Wrisco until the aluminum provider completes its integration into the Wieland Group.

Greg Keown, president of Wieland Metal Services said that the company viewed the Wrisco acquisition as a “highly strategic growth opportunity” to further expand its existing portfolio of products and services in North America.

Wrisco, which was founded in 1916, operates four distribution centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, and Edison, New Jersey. The company produces and supplies aluminum sheet metal for a variety of industries including architecture, automobiles, and manufacturing.
