The company said that the drop in steel and finished steel outputs as compared to the prior year period was due to unfavorable market conditions.

In the Jan-Aug period, Zaporizhstal produced 2.9mn mt of pig iron, 2.5mn mt of steel, and 2.1mn mt of rolled products.

Zaporizhstal is a part of the Metinvest group. The mill restarted its blast furnace No. 5 in May this year to reach full capacity of 2,900mt per day.
