Zijin Mining plans to produce 73,000mt of copper this year at its mining complex in Bor, Serbia, which represents a 38pc increase in production.

 

Zijin Bor Copper, the Serbian division of the Chinese group, also plans to increase its annual copper production to reach 190,000mt in 2024, noted Benjamin Jiao, engineering director, to the media on Thursday.

 

The Chinese group has given priority to the technological transformation of its four mines and smelters in Serbia. In March 2021 the Bor complex produced 5,188mt of copper concentrate, which represents a monthly record for the company.

 

According to Zijin Mining, the complex in Bor has reserves of 10.2mn mt of 0.4pc grade copper.
