Al Taweelah refinery produces 1mn mt alumina

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced that Al Taweelah refinery in Abu Dhabi has successfully achieved the benchmark of 1mn mt alumina production. The refinery is expected to reach sustained production level of 2mn mt during the first half of 2020. The production at Al Taweelha refinery began in April and the plant is expected to meet 40pc of EGA’s alumina needs. EGA invested $3.3bn for the refinery.
