Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) announced that it is committed to meet its production target of 1.54mn mt in 2020. This announcement was made during the company’s Board of Directors’ meeting for the third quarter on Sunday.
Alba’s Potline 6 expansion boosted its production by 540,000mt and raised Alba’s production capacity to 1.54mn mt.
The company launched Phase IV of Project Titan to reduce cash cost of $100mn by the end of 2020. The company has saved $102mn in Phase III of Project Titan. The company is re-thinking its cost structure.
Alba’s Phase IV of Project Titan aims to achieve $40mn saving in 2019 and $60mn in 2020. The project was launched to ensure competitiveness amidst the weak sentiment hovering around LME prices.
