Argentina’s crude steel output rose by 24.3pc to 370,700mt in January 2021, from 298,200mt in the same prior-year period, according to the Argentine Chamber of Steel.

 

The chamber cited higher demand from the construction, automotive, and durable goods industries for the rise in production in a statement last week. 

 

Hot-rolled coil output also climbed by 41.5pc to 410,600mt last month, from 290,200mt in January 2019. During the same period under comparison, cold-rolled coil production rose by 15.7pc to 139,100mt from 120,200 mt, while iron ore output climbed by 16.7pc to 241,700mt from 207,100mt.

 

Argentina’s car output rose by 17.5pc to 24,308 vehicles in January, from 20,683 units produced in the same month of the prior year, according to the Argentine Association of Automotive Makers.
