Auto industry in China’s Hubei province resumes operations amid measures to control the spread of COVID-19 virus. Local government is helping the auto industry to return to normalcy said China’s Industry and Information Technology ministry.

 

Hubei is the fourth largest automobile manufacturing province in China. Automakers in Hubei produced 2.24mn vehicles in 2019, which is 10pc of China’s total auto production. Dongfeng Motor, Honda, Renault and more than 500 other auto manufacturers, including component makers Bosch and Valeo have plants in Hubei.

 

Dongfeng Motor has resumed operations at its Wuhan plant. The plant has a production capacity to build 600,000 units, annually. Company’s truck manufacturing plant in Shiyan has also resumed production and produce 200 vehicles per day.
