Aerospace manufacturer Boeing has appointed Brian West as its new chief financial officer (CFO), replacing Greg Smith, effective late August this year.
West will also be the executive responsible for Boeing Capital Corporation, the financing spin-off of the company in his new capacity.
David Calhoun, Boeing’s president and chief executive officer, noted to the media on Friday that West was the ideal choice to guide the company’s long-term strategy given his over 20 years of experience in the financial market.
West comes from an array of financial and aero companies, having served as CFO for General Electric’s Aviation arm as well as GE Engine Services. He has also held the same title in financial companies like Refinitiv and Nielsen.
