Brazil’s crude steel output increased by 3.5pc to 2.78mn mt in October this year from 2.69mn mt in the same month last year, according to the latest figures from the Brazilian Steel Institute (Aço Brasil).
The country’s rolled, flat and long steel production also rose in October, with increased domestic sales and consumption as exports slowed.
