China reclassifies standards effective from July

China’s new standards for high-grade recyclable copper, brass and cast aluminium alloy will be implemented from July 1, according to the National Standardization Committee. Details on reclassified standards will be announced at the end of January. China declared its intention to reduce solid waste imports to zero by the end of 2020. The reclassification of high-grade scrap will prevent shortage of secondary raw material supply into China.
