In January to March (Q1 2020) China produced 173.76mn mt of crude steel, up by 1.49pc from the previous year, according to China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
In March, crude steel output was 57.621mn mt, a drop of 2pc from the previous year. In early April steel companies in China produced 19.4583mn mt of crude steel. Steel inventory with major steelmakers was 17.9512mn mt, down by 0.64pc from last week of March, but up by 88.32pc from beginning of the year.
