Jiangsu Delong Nickel Company plans to increase annual stainless-steel production capacity through expansion of their continuous casting billets facility by 1.35mn mt to 2.47mn mt.
The company’s new facility is located at Delong’s existing plant in Jiangsu. It includes smelting workshop and a steelmaking and continuous casting workshop, equipped with two 85-ton ultra-high-power electric arc furnaces, four 35mt intermediate frequency furnaces, three 120mt AOD refining furnaces, and two 120mt LF ladle refining plants, furnace, one R9m slab continuous caster, one R12m slab continuous caster, reserve a 120mt VOD and vacuum refining furnace. Delong plans to invest CNY209.4mn ($29.87mn) for the project.
The production capacity for these workshops is obtained by reducing the 1.7mn mt of steelmaking capacity of two 60mt steelmaking converters belonging to Xuzhou Baofeng Special Steel. The environment impact assessment for this project is under process.
