Canada’s total investment in building construction saw a 6.3pc increase to C$19.9bn in April compared to March this year, according to Statistics Canada (StatCan).
Investment in residential construction was up by 8.1pc from March this year to C$15.3bn in April. Single-family homes saw an 8.9pc increase and multi-unit construction grew by 7.2pc.
Canada’s investment in non-residential construction was up by 0.9pc to C$4.6bn in April compared to the previous month. Investment in institutional construction rose by 1.4pc and industrial construction saw a 1.8pc rise in April from March 2021.
