Ukrainian producer Dniprovsky Integrated Iron and Steel Works (DMK) slightly increased pig iron production while crude steel output declined through the five months of the year, according to a company statement.
From January through May, DMK produced 1mn mt of pig iron, increasing by 0.6pc over the same five-month period in 2019. The company’s crude steel output totaled 1.075mn mt, which declined by 3.7pc over the same period, while steel product output increased by 4.5pc to 327,802mt.
Last month, DMK produced 230,996mt of crude steel and 213,478mt of pig iron, including 6,493mt of merchant pig iron, according to the statement.
