Ukraine’s Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works (DMZ) crude steel production fell by 2.9pc to 28,500mt in April 2021 compared to the previous month. Rolled metal output rose by 12.2pc to 24,900mt in April against March. The month’s rolled metal output is higher than the average of 22,000mt monthly in the Aug-Nov 2020 period and December’s 20,000mt volume.
Pig iron production rose by 0.8pc to 25,980mt in April against the previous month.
DMZ also decreased its coke production by 3.2pc to 40,200mt in April this year against the preceding month, but the volume produced increased by 13.5pc compared to April 2020.
With mill production up in Ukraine from the prior year, scrap procurement increased by 30.3pc in Jan-Apr 2021 to 1.24mn mt compared to the same period in 2020. Scrap deliveries to mills rose by 22.3pc to 1.1mn mt in the same four-month period this year compared to last year.
