European Commission (EC) launched anti-dumping investigations into aluminium extrusions from China on February 14. The probe was initiated following complaints from European Aluminium on behalf of the aluminium producers from EU countries.
The products subject to this investigation are aluminium bars,rods, tubes, pipes and others
The move would remove unfair advantages gained by subsidisation and create level playing field.
Aluminium extrusion exports from China have nearly doubled in the last five years. China exported 209,531mt of aluminium extrusion to the EU in 2019, up from 122,844mt of exports in 2014.
Aluminium extrusions from China are currently subject to anti-dumping duties in the US, Canada, Australia and Vietnam.
