UAE-based Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has extended its alumina supply contract with Vietnam’s state-owned firm Vinacomin until 2023. Under this agreement, EGA will continue to buy up to 300,000mt of alumina from Vinacomin every year. This deal is an extension of an agreement signed by the two companies in 2017 which was due to expire at the end of this year.
Alumina is a significant components of UAE-Vietnam trade. EGA and Viacomin are jointly exploring ways to improve Vietnam’s port infrastructure and participate in other upstream opportunities in the country.
Al Taweelah refinery
