Turkish steelmaker Erdemir produced 5.49mn mt of hot-rolled coil (HRC) in 2020, down 2.5pc from 5.63mn mt in 2019.
In its Q4 2020 earnings report, the company noted that its Eregli plant contributed 2.33mn mt of HRC while the Iskenderun mill produced 3.15mn mt of the material.
Production of cold-rolled coil (CRC) at Eregli increased by 8pc to 1.77mn mt in 2020 against 1.63mn mt in 2019. In the same period, long steel output at Iskenderun fell by 3.4pc to 992,000mt from 1.02mn mt.
Shipments from Eregli increased by 5pc to 4.33mn mt in 2020 from 4.12mn mt in the prior year. Meanwhile, shipments from Iskenderun fell by 1pc to 4.16mn mt compared with 4.17mn mt during the same period under comparison.
The company’s consolidated sales in 2020 stood at $4.5mn. Erdemir posted an EBITDA of $989mn and a net profit of $472mn in 2020. It did not disclose its prior-year figures.
