The European Commission has initiated a sunset review on anti-dumping measures imposed on flat cold-rolled (CR) steel products originating from China and Russia.
Eurofer had requested for the review on behalf of the European steel industry on May 9 citing that the expiry of the measures could lead to a recurrence of dumping and injury to the region’s steelmakers. EU had imposed the duty on June 8, 2016.
The product under review are flat cold-rolled iron or non-alloy steel, or alloy steel excluding stainless steel, of all widths, not clad, plated or coated and not further worked imported under HS code 7209 15 00, 7209 16 90, 7209 17 90, 7209 18 91 (excluding 7209 18 99 and 7209 25 00, 7209 26 90, 7209 27 90, 7209 28 90, 7211 23 30 (excluding 7211 23 80, 7211 29 00), 7225 50 80 and 7226 92 00.
The period of review for the investigation is July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, while imports trends from January 2017 to June 30, 2021 will be analyzed to assess injury to domestic producers.
