Chinese producer Fushun Special Steel produced 321,600mt of steel and 259,600mt of stainless steel in H1 2020 (Jan-June). Production for both registered an uptick compared to the prior year.
Alloy structural steel output increased by 2.34pc to 165,200mt in H1. Sales, however, fell by around 3.14pc to 160,200mt compared to H1 2019. The output of tool steel rose by 6.53pc to 29,600mt while the sales volume increased by 3.37pc in H1 from the year prior.
Average prices of structural alloy steel increased in the period by 5.93pc to around CNY8,209.24/mt. The company’s net profit stood at CNY1,833.2mn in H1, up 46pc from the year prior. Operating income was reported at CNY3.10bn, up marginally by 0.81pc from the year prior.
