Canada Nickel is considering the use of Glencore’s Kidd Concentrator in Timmins, Ontario to treat its mined nickel ore from the Crawford Nickel Cobalt Sulphide project.
Under the current agreement, Canada Nickel will make an assessment of the Kidd site and will gauge the site’s potential for upgrading excess capacity or utilizing the existing infrastructure. After a detailed study, the companies plan to sign a binding Memorandum of Understanding by March.
Using the existing facility at Glencore’s Kidd site will enable Canada Nickel to process nickel from Crawford quicker, and at a lower cost. Canada Nickel and it recently annouced that it has achieved high Nickel recovery from initial tests at the Crawford project.
