GME Resources Ltd has said that it is on track to realize the nickel deposits at its NiWest Nickel Cobalt project in West Australia.
The project, which is located close to Glencore’s Murrin Murrin operations yielded, 1.25pc nickel and 0.087pc cobalt from measured sources of 0.5mt that were initially drilled as part of a conceptual study in Waite Kauri, which is a part of the NiWest project.
Based on a pre-feasibility study of the project released in 2018, GME expects NiWest to yield 456kt nickel and 31.4kt cobalt over the mine’s life cycle, with 19.2kt nickel and 1.4kt cobalt output expected in the first 15 years of operations.
The Australian gold and nickel miner said in a quarterly update that its search for a strategic partner for NiWest was on schedule and it was is continuing discussions with potential investors and partners.
