Swedish aluminum producer Granges expects its sales volume in the first quarter of 2021 to increase slightly from Q1 2020 as it projects a growth in sales in its Automotive and HVAC sector. Its Konin facility is now working at full capacity and the company expects to produce close to 24,000mt of aluminum in the first quarter.
Granges’ total sales volume in 2020 increased by 0.9pc to 350,600mt from 347,300mt in 2019. Its sales volume in the fourth quarter of 2020 also increased by 32.6pc to 103,300mt from 77,900mt in the same quarter in 2019.
The aluminum producer’s total automotive sales across Asia, Europe and the Americas rose by 4.2pc in Q4 2020 to 40,400mt from 38,800mt in Q4 2019. In the last quarter of 2020, its HVAC sales in the Americas saw a 23.5pc rise to 48,300mt from 39,100mt in Q4 2019.
In 2020, Granges’ operating profit declined to SEK 584mn ($69.9mn) from SEK836mn in 2019. Its operating profit in Q4 2020 rose to SEK167mn from SEK115mn in Q4 2019.
