Honda has gradually resumed operations effective May 11 in the US and Canada remaining shuttered from March 23. 

 

The company has stated that initially, workforce would be trained on the plan of action involving new working norms amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

In April, Honda’s US auto sales fell by 54.1pc to 57,751 units from the year prior. Sales improved with customer traffic increasing online as well as at dealerships. 

 

Other major automakers such as Hyundai, BMW, Volkswagen and Toyota are set to resume operation in the US soon. US auto industry workers have also migrated back to re-join work as lockdown is eased across the country, according to media reports.
