Japanese auto manufacturer Honda Motor Company’s Chinese units’ sales in March 2021 stood at 151,218 units, up by 250.2pc as compared to the same month in the previous year (March 2020), achieving a record in monthly sales, the company informed in a statement.
Of the company’s total sales in March, 76,203 units were of GAC Honda, while Dongfeng Honda’s sales stood at 75,015 units.
In March, the sales of six Honda models – Accord, Vezel, Breeze CR-V, XR-V, and Civic – exceeded 10,000 units. The sales of CR-V in March exceeded 20,000. The total sales of models equipped with SPORT HYBRID (sharp and hybrid) high-efficiency dual-motor hybrid power system stood at 21,662 units.
In the first three months of the year (Jan-Mar, 2021), the company’s cumulative sales in China grew by 175.8pc to 390,231 units from the prior-year period.
Of which, GAC Honda’s sales stood at 180,110 units, up by 154.8pc as compared to the same period in the preceding year, while sales of Dongfeng Honda in the Jan-Mar period rose by 198.9pc to 210,121 units from the prior-year period.
