Davis Index – Daily metal prices, scrap prices & global metal market

The weekly Davis Index for domestic Taint/Tabor (old sheet) Monday settled at Rs98,550/mt, up from Rs5,500 ($74.23/mt) del Delhi consumer in line with an increase in imported Taint/Tabor prices. The index for imported Taint/Tabor rose by $43/mt to $1,058/mt cfr India on Friday. 

 

The index for domestic old sheet rose by Rs1,000/mt to settle at Rs95,000/mt del Mumbai consumer in line with the imported Taint/Tabor scrap prices. 

 

The weekly index for domestic old cast (Purja/Tense) settled unchanged at Rs85,000/mt from the prior week. Prices of domestic old cast did not mirror the rise in imported aluminium old cast, which was up by $15/mt to $1,043/mt cfr India on Friday due to an increase in freight charges.

 

The weekly index for aluminium EC wire rose by Rs1,000/mt ($13.49/mt) to Rs130,000 del Delhi consumer on moderate demand from alloy manufacturers.

 

The index for Indian old cast dropped by Rs500/mt to settle at Rs85,000/mt del Mumbai consumer on low demand from the domestic alloy producer. 

 

The index for aluminium utensil rose by Rs1,000/mt to settle at Rs106,000/mt del Delhi consumer, on continued demand from downstream industries. The index for aluminium utensils dropped by Rs1,000/mt and settled at Rs105,000/mt del Mumbai consumer.
