Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The daily Davis Index for Raipur remained unchanged at Rs31,500/mt ($411.81/mt) ex-works. Rebar mills said that a few enquiries have come in from outside the state, but end-users are having to postpone their orders due to transportation issues stemming from the national COVID-19 lockdown. The daily index for billet remained flat at Rs26,500/mt ($346.45/mt) ex-works.

 

In Mumbai, the daily index for rebar remained unchanged and settled at Rs33,400/mt ($436.6/mt), while the index for billet settled at Rs28,700/mt ($375.16/mt) ex-works. 

 

Secondary steel mills across Mumbai, Jalna, Raipur, Mandi-Gobindgarh are shut till the lockdown ends on May 3. The Maharashtra government on April 22 also withdrew relaxations given to certain industries in Mumbai and Pune. 

 

In Mandi Gobindgarh, the daily Davis Index for ingot remained unchanged at Rs29,800/mt ($389.54/mt) ex-works.
