Secondary steel mills in Raipur are still not able to resume production, despite relaxation from the government and permitting to operate during extended lockdown as working with limited manpower is infeasible, said manufacturers.
Retailers of building construction material including rebar await clarity on relaxation guidelines as movement of commercial vehicles continue to be a challenge.
The daily Davis Index for rebar in Raipur remained unchanged at Rs31,200/mt ($407.31/mt) ex-works. The daily index for billet also remained flat at Rs26,500/mt ($345.95/mt) ex-works.
In Mumbai, the daily index for rebar remained unchanged and settled at Rs33,400/mt ($436.03/mt), while the index for billet settled at Rs28,700/mt ($374.67/mt) ex-works.
In Mandi Gobindgarh, the daily Davis Index for ingot remained unchanged at Rs29,800/mt ($389.03/mt) ex-works.
